DEVELOPING RESILIENCE IN HIGH PRESSURE PROFESSIONS
We warmly invite you to our next online event, on Wednesday 15th July, 19:00-20:30 GMT.
We’d all agree that we want the surgeons to be in the best state of mind when they operate on us or our loved ones, but this is a real challenge when we know they are under so much pressure from all directions. Carter’s research begins with her own experience as a general surgeon and focuses on stress and resilience in surgeons, systemic factors that influence surgeon well-being, and the development of evidence-based policy and interventions to promote surgeon wellbeing.
Hear how Carter developed the mindfulness-based intervention called Enhanced Stress Resilience Training (ESRT) and the research on how it has been show to impact on the performance and wellbeing of surgeons.
ESRT has been used with Swansea University medical students and the published trial has confirmed its value.
The conditions which inpsired Carter to develop ESRT will be relevant in any high-pressure profession within health and other sectors. Join us to hear more about this compelling evidence and how mindfulness can be an effective approach to improve wellbeing and performance.
This is a free event and open to all; you just need to register here. We would love to see you there.
We would love for you to join us!
